Italian Anisette Cookies Recipe

Ingredients of the Recipe:
1. 2 tablespoons hot water
2. 1 teaspoon of anise extract
3. 1 cup confectioners sugar
4. 1 tablespoon anise extract
5. 3/4 cup vegetable oil
6. 6 tablespoons baking powder
7. 2 eggs
8. 1/2 cup milk
9. 1 cup white sugar
10. 4 cups all purpose flour
Method of Preparation:
1. Heat the oven to 375 degrees F. Mix flour, baking powder and white sugar in a bowl. Make a hole in the center of the mixture and add oil, milk, anise extract and eggs. Mix them well until dough becomes sticky.
2. Dip the fingers in oil and pinch the dough in 1 inch pieces. Roll to form a ball and place on baking sheet. Slightly flatten the top and bake them in the oven for 8 minutes. Dip the cookies in the icing.
3. To make the icing, blend a teaspoon of anise extract and hot water with 1 cup confectioner’s sugar to form a smooth icing.
