Easy to make biscuits which are fun to eat with tea or coffee.

Ingredients Of the Recipe:

6 eggs, 1 teaspoon anise extract, 12 ounces of butter, , 8 ounces of chopped almonds, 1 3/4 cups of white sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 6 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 2 teaspoons baking powder.

Method of Preparation:

First of all heat the oven to about 350 degrees. Cream the butter and sugar together. Add eggs one by one and beat them until they become fluffy. Add the vanilla and anise extracts. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt. Add chopped almonds and the flour mixture to the eggs. Stir with a spoon and knead by hand when the dough becomes hard. Cut out the dough into four parts and roll each piece in the shape of logs of length 15 inches each. Place these logs on cookie sheets. Flatten them until they are about 3 inches in width and have a hump in the middle. Bake these in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Let the loaves get hard before cutting the loaves diagonally in 1/2 inch wide pieces. Place these back onto the cookie sheets and place them in the oven again. First toast them on one side and then turn them over. This process will take about 10 minutes.
