Italian Anisette Cookies Recipe

An age old italian cookie recipe.

Ingredients of the Recipe:
1. 6 tablespoons baking powder
2. 3/4 cup vegetable oil
3. 1 tablespoon anise extract
4. 1 teaspoon anise extract
5. 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
6. 4 cups all purpose flour
7. 1 cup white sugar
8. 1/2 cup milk
9. 2 eggs
10. 2 tablespoons hot water

Method of Preparation:
1. Heat up the oven to 375 degrees F. Mix flour, baking powder and white sugar in a bowl. Make a hole in the center of the mixture and add oil, milk, 1 tablespoon anise extract, and eggs.

2. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until dough becomes sticky. Apply Oil to the fingers and divide the dough in 1 inch pieces. Roll the pieces and form a ball and put these balls on a greased cookie sheet.

3. Put pressure on the pieces and flatten them from the top. Bake them in the oven for 8 minutes and then put the cookies in Icing while warm.

4. For the Icing; add a teaspoon anise extract and enough hot water to a cup of confectioner’s sugar and form a smooth icing.
