Italian Anisette Cookies Recipe

An age old italian cookie recipe.
Ingredients of the Recipe:
6 tablespoons baking powder, 3/4 cup vegetable oil, 1 tablespoon anise extract, 1 teaspoon anise extract, 1 cup confectioners’ sugar, 4 cups all purpose flour, 1 cup white sugar, 1/2 cup milk, 2 eggs and 2 tablespoons hot water.
Method of Preparation:
Heat up the oven to 375 degrees F. Mix flour, baking powder and white sugar in a bowl. Make a hole in the center of the mixture and add oil, milk, 1 tablespoon anise extract, and eggs. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until dough becomes sticky. Apply Oil to the fingers and divide the dough in 1 inch pieces. Roll the pieces and form a ball and put these balls on a greased cookie sheet. Put pressure on the pieces and flatten them from the top. Bake them in the oven for 8 minutes and then put the cookies in Icing while warm.
For the Icing: Add a teaspoon anise extract and enough hot water to a cup of confectioner’s sugar and form a smooth icing.
